Press release 15th May 2001

There's Much Ado About This!

It's Shakespeare time again as the Lincoln Shakespeare Company embark on their 26th Show. This year's summer offering will be Much Ado About Nothing and it's an exciting time for the company as they move back to the Medieval Bishop's Palace and take on a whole new set of players. The company has benefited greatly from the recently staged Lincoln Community Play, there are at 8 least eight people who participated in the Community Play and one or two other new members as well.

The Company staged a recruitment day back in April and it was a huge success. "We had 25 people turn up" said Company Spokesperson, Lisa Melligan. "There were many people from the community play who were anxious to carry on doing some more theatre and we are very pleased to have them".

Also this year the LSC return to the Medieval Bishop's Palace which was the company's outdoor home for many years. Their return coincides with a new garden and shop at the Palace so as well as the performance there will be plenty to look at.

Much Ado will be set in the 1940's at the end of World War II for the LSC version and will be using lots of nostalgic music and dancing.

Dates for the show are Bolsover Castle, Derbyshire July 21st and Medieval Bishop's Palace, Lincoln July 24th to August 4th (excluding Thursdays)

Tickets will be available shortly. For further information contact the company on 01522 889859 or Lisa Melligan on 07748 837871
